Incense & Burner Plate Set Red / Blue / White

Tobikanna is a geometric design used to decorate pottery. It is a chatter-like design produced by a metal tool springing against a leather-hard slip-covered vessel.

The incense burner plate is designed with Tobikanna technique. The incense and the plate are presented in a beautiful box. The metal incense holder can be removed to use the plate separately. The incense comes from the shop Shoyeido's Kourou Yukiyanagi (20 sticks, burning time 15 to 20 minutes). It has a floral scent with a smooth sweetness.

Mrs. Madoka Wakunami and Mr. Soryu Wakunami are the owners of Soryu-gama, a small pottery shop, and gallery near Kiyomizu-dera.

Mrs. Wakunami is the 14th generation of Koishiwara Pottery tradition, from Fukuoka. Mr. Wakunami is the 4th generation of Kyo-yaki pottery tradition, from Kyoto. Soryu-gama potteries mix those two artisans’ and the pottery traditions of Kyoto & Fukuoka. Kyo-yaki Pottery and Koishiwara Pottery blend to present to the world, a new type of pottery.
