Jacket Reversible White & Milagro

Modern everyday clothes by designer Ms. Tamao Shigemune. This jacket has for theme "Milagro". It means "miracle" in English, and it is popular in Mexico and South America as a charm that grants miracles.

There are various motifs on the dress such as animals, objects, and parts of the human body.

For example, we pray for a  speedy recovery for injury or illness. For animals, we pray for them to grow up healthy and for them to live a long life.

As it is reversible, you can put the Milagro patterns on top or on the inside. The other side is white.

Ms. Tamao Shigemune graduated from Tama Art University, in the Department of Textile Design.

She learned about textile design by apprehending various dyeing techniques such as yuzen dyeing, katazome, and screen printing.

While attending university, she gained an interest in antique kimono and started making her own painting-like kimono and obi designs. She also designs everyday life clothing.

In recent years, she has expanded her range of activities such as art direction, kimono styling, prop styling. She has participated in overseas fashion shows, workshops, and filming.
