The Tobikanna jewelry series is made by carefully baking the fragments that fall when doing the Tobikanna patterns. The gold is applied by a gold leaf craftsman in Kyoto.

Tobikanna is a geometric design used to decorate pottery. It is a chatter-like design produced by a metal tool springing against a leather-hard slip-covered vessel.

Mrs. Madoka Wakunami and Mr. Soryu Wakunami are the owners of Soryu-gama, a small pottery shop, and gallery near Kiyomizu-dera.

Mrs. Wakunami is the 14th generation of Koishiwara Pottery tradition, from Fukuoka. Mr. Wakunami is the 4th generation of Kyo-yaki pottery tradition, from Kyoto. Soryu-gama potteries mix those two artisans’ and the pottery traditions of Kyoto & Fukuoka. Kyo-yaki Pottery and Koishiwara Pottery blend to present to the world, a new type of pottery.
