The pottery jewelry necklace is made with shards created by separating the pottery from the potter's wheel and allowing the thin layer of soil remaining on the potter's wheel to dry and crack naturally. The shapes are born naturally without human intervention and are unique.
Mrs. Wakunami is the 14th generation of Koishiwara Pottery tradition, from Fukuoka. Mr. Wakunami is the 4th generation of Kyo-yaki pottery tradition, from Kyoto. Soryu-gama potteries mix those two artisans’ and the pottery traditions of Kyoto & Fukuoka. Kyo-yaki Pottery and Koishiwara Pottery blend to present to the world, a new type of pottery.
